Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I grew up in a small town surrounded by nature with my three siblings and my parents. After spending an exchange year in the US, I decided that I wanted to improve my English and learn more about American and British histories and cultures. This inspired me to complete a degree in English and American Studies at the University of Innsbruck. After living in Tirol for 24 years, it was time to explore a bigger city. So, I decided to do my MA in Vienna, which is where I am now.
What do you do at BON+BERG?
I’m the social media manager. My job involves posting and engaging with our community on Facebook and Instagram. I love creating and sharing content with others who are also passionate about fair fashion and sustainability.
How would you describe your own personal style?
Laid-back. The most important thing to me is comfort.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability means thinking more about what I actually need in life and what I consume. Since the beginning of my journey into sustainability, I have definitely become more conscious of where things come from.
How did you get into sustainable fashion?
It was a gradual transformation. First, I started to become more conscious about the food I was eating and where it came from. This slowly began to inspire other aspects of my life like what’s in my closet.
What advice can you offer others who want to be more sustainable?
The most important thing to remember is that you don’t have to do it in a day. It’s a step by step process. Just keep taking small steps every day in the right direction and slowly you will build a more sustainable lifestyle. Your wardrobe will slowly change too! Start by only adding new pieces from second hand shops or fair fashion labels.
Who inspires you most?
What do you like most about Bon+Berg?
That it is laid-back, simple and comfortable, and that a woman with a vision created it.
In one word, how would you describe Bon+Berg?
What is your favourite Bon+Berg item + why?
I love the Selene hipster panties. They are so comfortable and soft. Perfect for everyday wear.
Could you tell us an interesting or fun story about yourself?
I got to know Vienna better by buying most of my furniture and stuff on a second hand app. I had to travel all over Vienna to pick it up. It was a great way to discover a city and meet some of the interesting people living there!
